Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Peel sweet potato and cut into thick wedges about the size of an adult finger.
  2. Toss wedges with olive oil on a baking sheet and spread in a single layer.
  3. Roast for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping once, until completely soft and caramelized at the edges.
  4. Mix softened butter with cinnamon. Toss hot wedges in cinnamon butter until coated.
  5. Cool for 5 minutes. For 6-8 months, serve whole wedges for gripping and gnawing. For 9 months and older, cut into cubes for self-feeding.

Test doneness by squeezing a wedge lightly. It should yield with almost no resistance. Undercooked sweet potato is a choking hazard.
